Ronald McDonald Houses
Ronald McDonald Kinderfonds
Sick children feel better with their parents, brothers, and sisters nearby. Parents can sustain their caregiving better with a place to rest close to their sick child. When your whole world is turned upside down by illness or care, being together as a family is the most important thing. Together with dedicated volunteers, donors, and activists, the Ronald McDonald House Charities brings families with a sick child close together in the Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, and holiday homes.
I was asked to design a video that explains what the houses mean for the families of a sick child. The people from Ronald McDonald House Charities visit schools to explain what they do and why it is important, and this video supports them in telling that story in an accessible and engaging way. It was a wonderful opportunity to work for such a meaningful cause.
What made this project especially rewarding for me was guiding the entire creative process from start to finish. I loved translating such an emotional and sensitive topic into a clear and hopeful visual story. From developing the storyboard and carefully shaping the narrative arc, to illustrating each scene with warmth and empathy, and finally bringing everything to life through animation; every phase felt purposeful and inspiring. Seeing the story evolve from rough sketches into a finished film that can truly help families understand and connect with the mission was incredibly fulfilling.
